Poem 2 – Sunrise

The sun has not yet risen on this world
But the sky is already a joyous blue
And there before the sunrise there’s a girl
Who’s thinking of a boy that she once knew.

She’s thinking of his tender smile and face
And all of the time they used to share
But now that’s merely mem’ries – a place
Drifting and fading like her dear boy’s care.

The white clouds above ride through clear skies
After all her waiting the day’s begun
And there beneath the white clouds her heart flies
As she finally sees the rising sun.

And as the sun rises she can recall
The joy of love was worth the painful fall.
