Poem 84 – Why Not?

Why not? There’s nothing to stop it,
No way that we can avoid it.
So why not admit it and join me to dine,
And then we can sup on fine sweetmeats and wine.
Perchance then you’ll allow us to dance again,
And move once more ’round the floor,
So at least I’ll remember the band’s last refrain
When you say I can see you no more.

Dear readers,

I have absolutely no idea why all of the poems this week have had eight lines and fairly simple rhyme structures. But they have, so there you have it. I hope you liked them. They’re quite sweet.

Kind regards,

The Hapless Neo-Romantic
