Poem 124 – There Was a Time

There, there was a time,
I thought you knew me,
I thought you were true to me.

But those times are gone,
With the lips that you pressed to mine,
Those arms that embraced me,
In paradise divine.

No more times like that exist for me,
From this time on I’ll always
Alone,
Remembering
Remembering that,

There, there was a time,
I thought you knew me.
I thought you were true to me,
But, but those times died.

Dear readers,

And now we move on to romantic poetry again. This is one of those poems that I hear as a song. Not a happy one, but one that I quite like. It’s very beautiful in my head.

Kind regards,

The Hapless Neo-Romantic
