Poem 267 – Moments

It’s all just moments,
Moments in the past!
Moments that, while they were moments
Were never meant to last!
Parts of time that are now fond memories
Memories of pain, of being free!

They are nothing new,
Nothing at all!
Fragments of a world
Destin’d to fall!
Just a shining shard of a broken mirror,
Shining and bright, that alluring glimmer.

Damn all those moments,
Praise them as well!
Those moments became a lifetime
In heaven and hell!
They became my past, they shape me now
Though they were just moments –
Moments that passed.

Dear all,

Cutting close to the deadline here. This one, in my head, is set to a tune similar to ‘This is the Moment’ from the musical ‘Jekyll and Hyde’. I hope that you enjoy it.

Kind regards,

The Hapless Neo-Romantic
