And there were two eyes,
Staring into the headlights, unblinking,
Seemingly not caring if the glaring monster,
Lights ablaze and dazzling,
Would strike them down and end it there.
But at the last moment, as the horn blared,
I stepped aside
And wished I’d had the heart to stay.
