Poem 275 – Morning Light, Edinburgh

The yellow stones of Edinburgh
Warmed by the rising sun
Soar above the basalt hills
And heather-clad slopes
As over by the docks of Leith,
And out beyond the bay,
The sun is rising to light this place
And bring another day.

Dear readers,

This is mainly composed as a companion to the previous poem, inspired by the view from Arthur’s Seat, which overlooks the whole of Edinburgh.
