Poem 297 – The Desert Traveller

I saw them a long way off,
Their feet compressed the desert sands,
And the hot sun burnt their skin.
I never managed to catch them,
For their stride was longer than mine,
And traversed the desert like a mirage within my mind.

A substantially shorter poem than yesterday’s. I still quite like it though.
