Poem 320 – Tonight’s The Night

Tonight’s the night
That the long-awaited curtain rises.
For months we’ve waited,
For hours we’ve trained,
Now we wait to see what is our pay.
Will they laugh, guffaw or simply roar
In derision at our attempts at the comic art?

Dear readers,

Here is an extra poem to mark what is quite a big day for me – the opening night of my second Edinburgh Fringe show. It’s also a blatant plug. It’s a sketch show, and only has one poem (not written by me), but I’m still very excited – comedy is something I have a great deal of affection for. I’ve enjoyed working on the show a lot – it’s called ‘Gower Rangers’, if you’re interested. Are any of you at the Edinburgh Fringe? Are you in shows? Let me know – I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Kind regards,

The Hapless Neo-Romantic
