Poem 328 – I Am Cleopatra

I am Cleopatra,
This is my Nile
Those are my elephants
In my desert lands.

In the mind of a child,
Such is a line in the sand,
Where ants run rampant,
And the sun burns ascendant.

Dear readers,

A simple enough poem – childhood’s freedom to imagine is rather charming at times.

Kind regards,

The Hapless Neo-Romantic
