Poem 384 – The Creeping Shadows

The creeping shadow grows longer still,
I know not from whence it comes,
But soon it shall consume my mind
And I shall not, and who shall find
My body, maggot-stuffed, mummified,
Preserved in the fluids that once preserved my life,
I do not know, this life alone
Makes me ask ‘will anyone?’
Or will they not know that I died?
