Poem 414 – 08:00

A lifetime began at eight today
In the hospital over the way.
A boy, no hair, the father wasn’t there,
But the fathers’ parents were, and I heard them say
“He’d have been here if he could.”
Little did they know, barely a ward away,
A lifetime ended at eight today.
