Poem 417 – 11:00

The artist tried to change the world;
They failed – who cares about art?

The scholar also tried to save us,
They failed – stuck in their ivory tower.

The politician was tired, couldn’t change the law
“I need more money!” we heard more and more.

And in his morning meeting, the businessman cried
“Why, it’s not enough money, we want hearts and minds!”
Of course, those belonged to the artist.
