Poem 418 – 12:00

Halfway through the day the sun sits low
Barely above the rooftops, still it shines
Its feeble solstice light into the eyes of all
That dare face south while they walk.
All those facing north travel lands of crisp-lit wonder,
Marvelling at the beauty of the world,
But turn heel and travel south and it will be revealed
That the world is only beautiful when seen.
