Poem 89 – There are Moments

There are moments that I will not share,
Even with you, my sweet, my dear,
Points in time indivisible,
Where you simply had to be there.
Times when time stood still for me,
Transfixed like I by the beauty,
And ceasing to remember chronology
As we gazed at the object of my devotion,
Indescribable, unbelievable, inconceivable,
So that when the clocks resumed their motion,
My heart preserved the moment I won’t share.

Dear readers,

This poem is a definite change from a lot of the things I’ve ben writing. I saw something that I considered unbelievably beautiful, and sought to write a poem, then realised that I didn’t quite feel like sharing (yet). But this somehow conveys the beauty of that timeless moment even better than describing it would do.
And as I was writing the anti-penultimate line, this came into my head. It’s a good song.

Have a good Wednesday, and may you see beautiful things.
